Rev. Dr. John Moreland has been named the director for Black Church Programs. Moreland currently serves as the bi-vocational Senior Pastor of Denver Christian Bible Church, is a member of the Colorado Air National Guard, and has taught as an adjunct faculty member for Colorado Christian University, Gateway Seminary and the University of Denver. He will advance the Black Church Programs forward in extending the educational resources of Denver Seminary to Denver’s urban communities.
A native of San Antonio, TX, John was born and raised in deep Southern traditions. He felt called to lifelong service of Christian ministry and public service at the age of 5, began preaching ministry at age 15, and was ordained to the Gospel Ministry at age 18.
John holds a Doctor of Ministry in Preaching and Pastoral Leadership from Denver Seminary, a Master of Divinity from Golden Gate Baptist Theological Seminary and Bachelor of Science degree in Criminal Justice from Wayland Baptist University.
