Tim Koller, PhD

Associate Dean of Academic Affairs; Director of the Leadership program

Dr. Timothy Koller joined Denver Seminary in 2017, where he serves as Associate Dean of Academic Affairs, Director of the Leadership program, Assistant Professor of Leadership, and occasional host of the Engage360 Podcast. He earned his PhD in Leadership Studies from Capital Seminary & Graduate School and holds an MA in Ministry and BS in Bible from Lancaster Bible College. Dr. Koller is also a certified Capable Life coach and a Genos International Emotional Intelligence Certified Practitioner.

Beyond the seminary, Dr. Koller coaches competitive youth soccer with Colorado Elevation FC and contributes to theological accreditation as a Peer Reviewer with the Association of Theological Schools and a member of the Higher Learning Commission Peer Corps. He serves his local church community as a volunteer in both children’s and student ministries at Larkspur Church.

Dr. Koller’s research focuses on the intersection of emotional intelligence and leadership, particularly examining social power, personal formation, organizational leadership, second-order change, and systems thinking. His doctoral work explored the relationship between emotional intelligence and power styles among lead pastors, research that continues to inform his teaching and scholarship. His passion is developing competent servant leaders characterized by integrity and holy imagination.

Prior to Denver Seminary, Dr. Koller served as a youth pastor, small business owner, church planter, theological higher education administrator, and professor. He has contributed to the broader church community through board service with the Reading-Berks Conference of Churches and as an elder at Koinos Community Church and Bloom Church.
