Engage your faith in Denver Seminary’s Master of Theology program

Within the Master of Theology (ThM) degree program, students will examine key doctrines of the Christian faith and understand methods of the theological process.

The ThM degree is a theologically rich, historically rooted, and contemplatively engaged approach to apprenticeship to Jesus as the essence of life. Typically, this advanced study degree is an academic step toward getting a PhD. However, it can also be a degree to fill the gaps in your training thus far. It can broaden your biblical/theological training beyond what you could achieve in your master’s program and it gives that extra time you may need to determine a specialization to pursue in a doctoral program.

The ThM is intentionally shaped for academic study and ministry preparation. Master of Theology students will learn to think theologically about all of life and effectively grapple with theological issues and trends in the contemporary church. Whether you envision doctoral work in theology, enrichment of your church or parachurch ministry, or a deeper understanding of your faith, this degree will put you on the right path.

How Can I Use this Degree?

The ThM degree program prepares men and women to lead and serve in a variety of ministry contexts such as missionaries, leaders in social justice ministries, outdoor leadership, education, as well as pursuing doctoral education.

Program Entrance Requirements

  • Master of Divinity degree or its equivalent
  • Cumulative undergraduate GPA of at least 3.0
