Denver Seminary Continues to Grow, Adding Three Faculty Members in July
Littleton, Colo—Three new faculty members joined Denver Seminary as of July 1, 2022. Dr. Elizabeth Meier Thornton, assistant professor of Counseling; Dr. Darlene Seal, assistant professor New Testament; and Dr. Ryan Tafilowski, assistant professor of Theology, bring diverse experience and expertise to their respective programs.

Faculty Joining Denver Seminary in July 2022
Dr. Elizabeth Meier Thornton holds a PhD in counselor education and supervision from the University of the Cumberlands, a master’s degree in school counseling and clinical mental health from Denver Seminary, and a bachelor’s degree in Family Counseling from Moody Bible Institute. Meier Thornton has taught as an adjunct professor at Denver Seminary and the University of Denver and served as a research assistant for the School Counseling and Mental Health Initiative at Denver Seminary. In addition, she is a National Certified Counselor and a Licensed Professional Counselor.
Dr. Darlene Seal holds a PhD in Christian theology and biblical studies: New Testament from McMaster Divinity College, a master’s degree in New Testament from Denver Seminary, and a bachelor’s degree in Christian studies from Ouachita Baptist University. Seal has served as a lecturer in Greek at McMaster Divinity College and as adjunct professor at McMaster Divinity College and Denver Seminary.
Dr. Ryan Tafilowski holds a PhD in systematic theology and a master’s in theology in church history from the University of Edinburgh, and a bachelor’s degree in biblical studies from Colorado Christian University. Tafilowski has served as an adjunct professor in the Division of Christian Thought at Denver Seminary, adjunct professor of theology at Colorado Christian University, and postgraduate instructor in theology and ecclesiastical history at the University of Edinburgh. He serves as the lead pastor at Foothills Fellowship Church in Denver and as Theologian-in-Residence at the Denver Institute for Faith and Work.
