Denver Seminary Initiatives
Denver Seminary’s initiatives help us to reach a variety of audiences, grow ministry opportunities, and engage outside of the classrooms and in the greater community.
Asian Initiative
Denver Seminary’s Asian Initiative aims to develop pastoral and lay leadership among Asian Christians in the metro Denver area. The Asian Initiative is led by Dr. Sung Wook Chung, professor of Christian theology.
Black Church Programs
The Black Church Programs (formerly Urban Initiative) is focused on expanding the presence of Black students in Denver Seminary degree programs and enhancing the overall experience of Black students, as well as extending the educational resources of Denver Seminary to Denver’s urban communities.
The Gospel Initiative
Through The Gospel Initiative we are working to strengthen local churches and provide ministry and pastoral leaders, lay leaders, and others with resources to commend the gospel with compassion and credibility.
Hispanic Programs/Programas Hispanos
The Hispanic Programs at Denver Seminary includes the IDEAL – The Institute for the Development and Training of Leaders, The Trauma Healing Program, The Church Development Program, and a partnership with the Central American Theological Seminary (SETECA) that provides the opportunity for participants to earn an associates degree in biblical studies.

School Counseling Mental Health Initiative
The School Counseling Mental Health Initiative seeks to research the needs of Denver-area students and school counseling-based interventions and facilitate trainings for educators.
Soul Care Initiative
The Denver Seminary Soul Care Initiative hosts retreats for pastors and faith leaders along the Front Range and offers credentialed training in the practice of spiritual direction.
